Should I Visit Haugesund Norway?
Should I Take A Cruise to Haugesund, Norway?
Absolutely! Haugesund was a unique port of call. This port of call dropped you into a town / city.
How is the Cruise Port at Haugesund?
There is a city map available from the tourism office that shows several easy to walk to landmarks for your pleasure.
They also have a “borrow” umbrella box – If you need an umbrella you borrow it and then return it to a store or back to the cruise port.
You could walk to the city center in about 20-25 minutes. Most of the walk is flat except when passing over the bridge, there was a small incline. Sidewalks were abundant and this is a town made for walking.
Should I Take a Shore Excursion?
Taking a cruise is always a great way to get the quick view of an area. Normally you have a few hours to explore the area before you move on to the next port.
However, there are shore excursions available by the cruise line to help you see as much as possible.
If you book a private tour, always note that the cruise ships will not wait for you if you are late returning.
Give yourself plenty of time for vehicle issues, traffic delays etc.
